  • What is the payment structure?

To secure your event date, a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your event date; the balance is due two weeks prior to your event. Your event date is not secured until we have received your signed contract agreement and non-refundable deposit.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer

Orders placed with  less than two weeks notice will require payment in full at the time of order.

If an order is cancelled, your balance payment is refundable provided that we are notified at least 21 days prior to the event.

  • What is the best way to carry a cake?

Place both hands under the board of your cake to distribute the weight evenly when carrying and try to carry the cake flat rather than angled in towards your body.  The cake boards can flex and bend if not fully supported, causing the cake to torque and leaving cracks in buttercream and in fondant.
Today’s cake boxes are not sturdy things…please be careful not to squeeze the sides into your cake as this may damage the design.

  • How should I transport my cake?

Ensure your vehicle has a suitable space large enough to carry your custom cake. Large custom cakes may not include a box for transport or may be in an open box without a lid. It is best to place the cake on a non slip mat and on a flat surface, e.g. in the footwell, or the boot of the car rather than the seat to help prevent the cake from getting damaged in transit.
Be sure items are not stacked around your cake that can fall or slide into your box.
Pets and children are devious…especially when the scent of a freshly baked cake surrounds them.  They can’t help it, so beware 🙂
